Aimee on being a Dubai-based member of the pet professionals guild

As a member of the pet professionals guild and the institute of modern dog trainers I do not use shock collars, choke chains, prong collars or slip leads (except in an emergency or in a Kennel setting). I don’t use rattle bottles, training discs, air horns, pet correctors or tin cans or anything designed to startle a dog into stopping what they’re doing.

What I do is quite unique here in Dubai. I take an holistic approach to my training and behaviour consults. Focusing on easy, sometimes bordering on lazy, solutions to improving a dogs behaviour (by using a feeding toy for example). No, I haven’t trained police dogs, but I have worked with some pretty aggressive dogs that have done serious damage to people and other dogs. I’ve spent my entire career working with clients and their dogs. Coaching and counseling them through tough problems.
